Holliston Schools Welcome Susan Kustka As Interim Supterintendent

The Holliston School Committee unanimously voted Kastka in as interim superintendent.

HOLLISTON, MA — Susan Kustka will lead Holliston Public Schools as the interim superintendent for 2020-21. The Holliston School Committee unanimously voted Kustka into the position.

Kutstka will temporarily replace Former Superintendent Brad Jackson, who left the district for a position as superintendent of Shawsheen Valley Technical High School. Jackson had been with Holliston Public Schools since 2004.

The district issued a notice for the position in May and narrowed the field of 28 applicants down to four by the end of June. The School Committee said in a press release, that Kutstka's variety of experience and knowledge in the areas of social-emotional learning, social justice, and communications were focal points in their decision.

Kutstka has 25 years of experience in education including spending the last six years as assistant superintendent for administration and personnel at Weymouth Public Schools. She's spent the bulk of her career in districts within the Commonwealth and earned her master of education degree in moderate special needs from Boston College as well as a doctorate in education from Northeastern University.

The Holliston School Committee will continue its search for a permanent superintendent during the school year. The district hopes to have the permanent position filled by July 2021.
