Hopkinton Police Log: Child Endangerment, Assault at Cornell's
The following information was provided by the Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction. All arrests are reported.

Friday, Oct. 12
1:03 a.m.: A caller reported a patron at Cornell’s threw a chair at him and said that the caller and his friend were not welcome there. An officer spoke to an officer for a more complete report at 2 a.m.
8:29 a.m.: A caller reported an erratic operator on Wood Street. Hopkinton Police officers responded and spoke to the operator.

2:14 p.m.: A caller from the Ashland PD said they were notified of a truck losing it’s load on East Main Street. Officers checked the area and were unable to find the truck.
4:32 p.m.: An officer checked a refrigerator left on the side of Ash Street with a “free” sign on it. The officer noted that the doors were still on the fridge creating a safety hazard.

5:46 p.m.: An officer took a report of a hit and run crash on West Main Street. The vehicle that fled the scene reportedly had New Jersey license plates on it.
7:54 p.m.: A caller from Wedgewood Driver reported a male dressed in all black looking in his window. When the caller opened his door the suspect fled in to the woods.
8:43 p.m.: An officer spoke to people who were taking pictures at the Fruit Street soccer fields.
8:48 p.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Grove Street and arrested William P. Lee, 47, of 194 Ash St.
8:58 p.m.: A resident reported a person lying on the side of Cedar Street curled up in a ball. An officer responded and transported a woman to her residence.
9:43 p.m.: An officer assisted the Franklin PD with an investigation regarding a hit and run in their town. No one was available when an officer knocked on the suspect’s door.
11:26 p.m.: A caller from Elm Street reported that her doorbell was rang but there was no one there when she responded. An officer spoke with a couple of girls who said they had seen a “bunch of youngsters” in the area.
11:57 p.m.: A caller reported that they picked up a loose dog on West Main Street. Animal Control was able to identify the owner of the dog.
Saturday, Oct. 13
10:39 a.m.: A resident of Clinton Street reported that someone was metal detecting on their neighbor’s property; possibly without permission.
7:28 p.m.: An officer assisted a vehicle on West Main Street with directions.
8:31 p.m.: A caller from Blueberry Lane reported that a vehicle had driven over his political signs for the third time.
Sunday, Oct. 14
1:19 p.m.: An officer responded to a crash on Pleasant Street. One vehicle was towed and damage was reported on a telephone pole.
4:00 p.m.: A resident requested an officer to check damage to his barn that was allegedly caused by his wife.
6:47 p.m.: Two callers reported a two-car crash on Wood Street by St. Paul’s. No injuries were reported.
Monday, Oct. 15
6:11 a.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Wood Street and arrested Erondy D. Rates, 44, of 18 Hayes St., Framingham. Rates was charged with unlicensed operation and possession of a false/stolen RMV document.
10:21 a.m.: The Milford PD reported an erratic driver crossing in to town on South Street. An officer spoke with a representative at the company.
10:37 a.m.: A caller reported a large dead fox on the ramp to Route 495.
3:36 p.m.: A 911 caller from Davis Road reported that she had left a frying pan on the stove and it was causing her smoke detectors to go off. An officer responded with the Hopkinton Fire Department.
5:03 p.m.: An officer responded with the fire department to assist the Massachusetts State Police with a car fire on Route 495. They were unable to locate the vehicle.
5:50 p.m.: An officer contacted the Sewer Department after they were notified of a sewer pump alarm on South Street.
8:49 p.m.: A 911 caller from Ash Street reported a vehicle driving on the gas line in the woods. Officers responded and located the vehicle stuck in a “very remote area.” A criminal application for trespassing was issued to the operator for trespassing. Ted’s said they would attempt to free the vehicle in the morning.
