Hopkinton Police Log: Dead Cat, Ashland Man Arrested

The following information was provided by the Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction. All arrests are reported.

Wednesday, Aug. 8

1:02 a.m.: An officer stopped a car on Main Street and arrested Michael C. Craig, 27, of 7 Joanne Dr., Ashland. Craig is charged with speeding, drunken-driving and operating without a valid inspection sticker.

5:07 p.m.: A caller reported a pickup truck with a dog in it on West Main Street. The caller said the dog had been there for an extended period of time. When an officer arrived the vehicle was gone.

9:01 p.m.: A caller reported that she had just struck a cat on Ash Street and killed it. Animal Control was notified.

Thursday, Aug. 9

9:07 a.m.: A caller from West Main Street reported a dump truck in her driveway that didn’t belong there. The truck was involved in roadwork in the area.

11:43 a.m.: A person walked in to the station to speak with an officer about a civil dispute on Hillcrest Drive.

11:19 p.m.: A caller from Clinton Street reported an unwanted person at their house. Officers responded and spoke to both people who said they had worked over their disagreement and would both remain at the residence.

11:37 a.m.: An officer checked a motor vehicle on Legacy Farms South. The vehicle belonged to a person who was checking the area for guardrail work.
