Hopkinton Police Log: Drugs Arrest, Police Cruiser Crash

The following information was provided by the Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction. All arrests are reported.

Monday, Sept. 24

10:17 a.m.: An officer requested a Breathalyzer at the Hopkinton Public School’s admin building. The person in question was transported home by a family member.

2:32 p.m.: A resident of A Street reported a car speeding on the street. The caller said she has seen the vehicle speeding by in the past and turning on to Cedar Street. An officer from the Hopkinton Police Department checked the area.

3:23 p.m.: Officers responded to a crash on Hayden Rowe Street near Teresa Road. Injuries were reported and one vehicle was towed. While responding to the crash a police cruiser was struck by a school bus with two students on it. No injuries were reported in that crash.

4:38 p.m.: Three vehicles were involved in a crash on West Main Street. One vehicle was towed and one person was transported to the hospital.

7:09 p.m.: A caller from Valleywood Drive reported a suspicious vehicle driving around the neighborhood. An officer responded and checked the area.

Tuesday, Sept. 25

8:30 a.m.: An officer assisted with a disabled vehicle on West Main Street.

9:26 a.m.: An officer assisted the Hopkinton Fire Department with a report of the gas odor on Main Street. The smell was not observed when they arrived.

10:14 a.m.: A caller from East Main Street reported a dog was found wandering on her property. The caller held on to the dog until Animal Control could respond.

1:17 p.m.: An officer spoke with a tree-cutting crew after a caller reported they were causing a hazard on Fruit Street.

1:40 p.m.: A caller reported a motorcycle crash on Jamie Lane while they were waiting for a school bus. The biker got up and continued on in an unknown direction.

6:07 p.m.: A caller from Jamie Lane reported that pool gate was open and there were bicycle tracks in the area. The information was logged.

7:09 p.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on West Main Street and asked for a second unit. Derrick J. Henry Jr., 20, of 24 Paris St., Marlborough was arrested. Henry was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, possession of a class A substance and a marked lanes violation.

8:20 p.m.: A caller reported someone going door to door for an environmental company on School Street. An officer checked the area.

10:00 p.m.: Officers assisted the Milford Police Department on Pine Island Road with taking possession of property related to an arrest.
