Hopkinton Police Log: Drunk Driving Arrest, Broken Mailboxes

The following information was provided by the Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction. All arrests are reported.

Thursday, Aug. 16

12:53 a.m.: A caller reported that a vehicle had driven off 495 and in to a ditch between exits 20 and 21. The responded with an ambulance and transported one person to the hospital.

6:46 a.m.: arrested Segundo N. Cungachi, 29, of 96 Main St., Milford after a stop on West Main Street. Cungachi is charged with operating with a suspended license and operating without an inspection.

8:46 a.m.: A caller from reported that two men let an animal, possibly a woodchuck, out of a Have-A-Heart trap near the garden center.

8:57 a.m.: A caller reported overnight damage to their mailbox on Breakneck Hill.

8:10 p.m.: A caller reported that her mailbox was damaged overnight on Chamberlain Street along with her neighbor’s.

Friday, Aug. 17

1:15 a.m.: Officers arrested Laura A. Karolshyn, 22, of 491 West Central St., Franklin, after stopping her vehicle on Cedar Street. She is charged with drunken-driving and a marked lanes violation.

8:08 a.m.: Two callers reported a bag of mulch in the roadway on West Main Street. The bag was removed by the .

3:55 p.m.: A person went in to the station to report that a speeding vehicle with New York plates had almost hit him on Ash Street.

7:00 p.m.: Officers took a report of theft from Hayden Rowe Street.

7:56 p.m.: A caller from Greenwood Road reported a group of youths running through many backyards in the area. The youths were gone with an officer arrived.

Saturday, Aug. 18

8:40 a.m.: An officer responded to an accident on Front Street. One vehicle needed a tow and the DPW was called to sand the road after a lot of fluids were spilled. The operator of one vehicle was issued a ticket for an improperly registered trailer and marked lanes violation.

10:07 a.m.: The Director of the reported a call from “Safe Line” that she believed to be a scam.

4:58 p.m.: A caller reported that she arrived home to her Victory Lane house to find her back door open and her dog missing. Officers determined that the house appeared to be normal inside the dog had escaped on its own.

10:31 p.m.: A caller reported an underage party on Chamberlain Street. Officers checked the area but it was quiet.

Sunday, Aug. 19

1:38 p.m.: A person walked in to the station to discuss threatening phone calls with an officer.

8:28 p.m.: A caller from Front Street reported that she heard four gun shots and that her neighbor’s dog was barking. Officers responded and the area was quiet.

10:41 p.m.: A caller from Chestnut Street reported someone on a dirt bike riding in the street with no lights and no helmet. An officer was unable to find the biker.

11:22 p.m.: A caller reported hearing footsteps in her house. Officers checked the house and secured it.
