Hopkinton Police Log: Stolen Political Sign, Restraining Order Arrest

The following information was provided by the Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction. All arrests are reported.

Tuesday, Aug. 14

12:27 a.m.: A caller from Bowker Road reported that his vehicle was vandalized while he was in Boston. viewed the minor damage but there are no suspects.

7:50 a.m.: A caller reported that he had items taken from his vehicle on Glen Road overnight.

8:25 a.m.: A caller reported that he just witnessed a person drive over two street signs on Main Street and continue driving.

4:11 p.m.: Officers responded to a report of breaking and entering on Commonwealth Avenue. When they arrived the arrested William Scott Mcelhaney, 28, of 3 Commonwealth Ave. Mcelhaney is charged with violating a restraining order and misdemeanor breaking and entering.

5:24 p.m.: Several callers reported a multi-vehicle car crash on Hayden Rowe Street. No injuries were reported.

8:03 p.m.: A caller reported seeing excessive amounts of black smoke on Meserve Street. responded.

9:31 p.m.: A caller from Meadowland Drive reported that several cars had just parked at the end of the cul-de-sac. Officers responded and spoke to the people involved who were attending a party at a nearby house.

Wednesday, Aug. 15

3:32 a.m.: A caller reported that partygoers from a neighboring house on Old Elm Way rang his doorbell and then ran away. Officers checked the area and they found no one around.

9:07 a.m.: A caller from Courtney Circle reported that their mailbox had been vandalized.

4:39 p.m.: A 911 caller reported an erratic driver that had just gotten on to route 495 south. The state police were contacted.

4:50 p.m.: A caller reported that his bicycle was stolen while he was in the woods on Wood Street for a short period of time.

6:45 p.m.: A caller reported the theft of a political sign from Hayden Rowe Street.

6:56 p.m.: A 911 caller reported two vehicles on East Main Street throwing water bottles at one another. Before officers could catch the vehicles they crossed in to Ashland where they were stopped by Ashland PD. The youths involved were issued warnings for littering and returned to clean up the water bottles.

7:40 p.m.: A 911 caller reported a car vs. motorcycle crash on Hayden Rowe Street. The motorcycle operator refused medical treatment and was given a ticket for a marked lanes violation.

9:03 p.m.: A 911 caller reported a large black dog running around in her yard. After the caller was informed of proper 911 procedures, an officer responded and located the owner of the dog.

9:04 pm.: A caller from Ledgestone Drive reported that his mailbox had been vandalized the previous night.
