Hopkinton Resident Earns Spot on Assumption College Football Team

Nicholas Poillucci of the class of 2020 is competing during the team's fall season.

The Assumption College Department of Athletics has announced that Nicholas Poillucci, of Hopkinton, has earned a coveted spot on the 2016-17 Assumption College Football team. Poillucci, Class of 2020, is competing during the Greyhounds' fall season.

The team is being led by senior captains Jarrod Casey, Sullivan Crotty, Alex Shain, Charles Reid and Nicholas Valenti under fourth-year coach Bob Chesney. The Greyhounds are currently nationally ranked 16th among Division II teams. The Hounds are building off an historical 2015 campaign in which they finished the regular season 9-1, won the Northeast-10 Championship, and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
