Introducing your new Patch reporter, and a new approach to local news

HOPKINTON, MA - Starting this week, Patch is adding a dedicated reporter to cover all types of news coverage for Holliston and Hopkinton.
My name is Mary Ellen Gambon, and I began my journalism career in 1994. I took a detour to work in state and Boston government and social services before returning to my passion for reporting.
Over the past five years, I have covered several communities, including Boston, Norwood, Dedham, Canton, Stoughton, Randolph, Sharon, Westwood, Walpole, Holbrook and Hopkinton. For the past six months, I have covered Dedham, Norwood, Westwood and Walpole for Patch.

I am no stranger to writing about Hopkinton. I had been a freelance reporter for The Hopkinton Independent for the past year. I mainly covered the School Committee, the Planning Board and the Conservation Commission while writing features.
I will be focusing my local coverage on town government and the schools. If there are any issues you would like me to cover or ideas for features, please reach out to me. My email is maryellen.gambon@patch.com. I can also preview upcoming community events.
