POLL: Should the U.S. Intervene in Syria?

The European Union imposed new sanctions on Syria this morning.

Amid the shelling of Syrian cities and towns by the country's military and thousands of civilian deaths over months of unrest, the European Union slapped new sanctions on President Bashar Assad's regime this morning, the Los Angeles Times reports. 

Western officials have debated military invention in Syria in the past months as civilians there have cried out for help.

"Ultimately, Western powers have no choice but to intervene. Until outside forces compel them to stop, the Assads will continue their murderous rampage with utter impunity. Negotiations have failed, sanctions have failed."
