Selectmen: New Website Could Help Solve Problems
Last night the Holliston Board of Selectmen met to discuss their objectives and goals, accessibility and communication topped the list.

have a lot of goals on their plate, but there was one thing they said would make everything easier.
"We want to get the information out to people as easily as possible," Kevin Conley said. "The website is a key driver of that."
The current website, which has had more than 650,000 visitors since it launched in 2002, is missing many of the tools that selectmen would like to see for the community.

Two of Jay Leary's suggestions included a frequently asked question section, which he said could save time by reducing the number of repeat questions, and a question drop box, which would increase accessibility to start a conversation with the selectmen and other town departments.
Other changes the selectmen discussed were holding office hours, allowing community members to come in and talk to them, as well as regular meetings with the department heads of the town so everyone is on the same page.

Many goals were discussed that could benefit from having a more robust website; including the Andrews School development, infrastructure improvements around town and creating a geographic information system or GIS and a more streamlined permitting process.
Selectmen said all of these things could be made easier by an updated website allowing GIS hosting and information pages for any other project the town is working on.
"The website drives a lot of things," Leary said.
