Strong Fall Seasons Expected from the Hillers

Athletic Director Eric Karjel said even with the yearly changeover, strong coaches and support make great teams possible.

The Hillers football team is back on the field again and starting tomorrow the entire fall sports line-up will be joining them with a mix of new and seasoned faces.

New freshman are trying out for teams, international students have joined the program and some of the seniors that graduated have left vacancies to be filled.

"We don't know who's coming in, and we don't know who's going to be hurt, but we do know it's going to be competitive," Athletic Director Eric Karjel said.

Student athletes this fall can expect one thing for sure though, experienced coaching. According to Karjel every head coach of a varsity team this fall is in at least their third season.

"The coaches that we have are strong, and they've shown that they know what they're doing," Karjel said. "I think that sets are players up so they can succeed on and off the field."

Karjel said he expects the tradition of sportsmanship that the Hillers have shown to continue and when you mix that with good leadership the rest works itself out.

"We're fortunate that our teams are strong, but you want a positive experience for the players," he said. "When you can act the right way and be positive you're going to be successful."
