said: "One simple question... will your property value go up or down because of a casino near your home? Almost all agree that it would go DOWN and by A LOT. Those in favor of a casino, I ask them, why would property values go down if having a casino is such a good thing? It’s because of the long term negative effect a Casino has its surrounding. Traffic can be addressed, but the rest of the real negative effects cannot..."

Are there problems here? You better believe it? Can we solve them? YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT! With patience and tolerance, with clear minds and open hearts, we in the Commonwealth are capable of anything!!! That's my speech for the day.

said: Speaking for myself, I am not opposed to casinos in general. I am opposed to this one, for three reasons. First, traffic on Washington Street, already stop-and-go at many times, would greatly increase. It's clear from the developer's plans that there would be an entrance/exit onto Route 16 just west of the Holliston/Milford town line. Second, property values would certainly be adversely affected. Who can deny that future homebuyers would be more reluctant to settle in the vicinity of a casino? Third, though the proposed parcel abuts the town line, Holliston has no say about whether the casino will go forward, and would stand to gain little once it becomes operational. In short, Milford would have the party and Holliston, among others, would get the hangover. This is just wrong.
