Boston Can Receive Funds to Repair Local Roads and Bridges
The award is part of the state's Winter Recovery Assistance Program.

Boston has been authorized to claim $2,165,860 in state road and bridge repair assistance as part of the Winter Recovery Assistance Program (WRAP).
That’s the town’s portion of $30 million specifically aimed at helping cities and towns across the state patch potholes, cracked pavement and surface defects as well as repair or replace signs, guardrails, storm drains and line stripping damaged during the historic winter the area just experienced.
According to the MassDOT website, the dollars come from the existing 2015 bond authorization, and they were allocated to individual municipalities based on the Chapter 90 funding formula. These funds, however, are separate from Boston’s Chapter 90 funding.

Towns will be reimbursed for up to their allotted amount. In order to expedite repairs, MassDOT is requiring that the work be completed by June 30, 2015, and invoices be submitted to MassDOT by July 31, 2015.
