City 'Snow Removal Strike Force' in Egleston

Crews have spread across the city to remove remaining snow piles.

The city is coordinating an effort to remove leftover - and abundant - snow piles.

Snow Strike Force teams, comprised of members from the Boston Public Works Department, Boston Transportation Department, Boston Police Department, and the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services, were in Egleston Square Monday afternoon, according to a press release from Mayor Thomas Menino's office Monday afternoon.

Jamaica Plain was buried in more than 2 feet of snow for what seemed like the duration of the storm and into Sunday and Monday.

Though the rain and warm weather has helped melt some of the snow, slush, water and snow drifts have made driving extremely difficult along the side streets.
