Date Set for Doyle’s 17th Annual Road Race

Though a springtime roadrace doesn’t look possible on a day like today, a Jamaica Plain institution has set a date for its annual run.

The 17^th Annual Doyle’s Emerald Necklace Road Race is set for Sunday, April 7, according to a post on the restaurant’s blog.

The five-mile course consists of a jaunt through Franklin Park and finishes at the café, 3484 Washington St.

The fee for those who register before April 1 is $25, for those who enter after April 1 the fee is $30. Registration ends at 10:30 a.m. on race day, the blog says.

Sam Adams Boston Lager is cosponsoring the event.

Some of the proceeds will benefit Sister Jeanne’s Kids’ and The Boston Police Gaelic Column of Pipes and Drums, according to the blog.
