Fight On Boston School Bus Sends 2 Officers & Student To Hospital

Two police officers, two adults, and a student are recovering in a hospital after a fight broke out on a school bus in Jamaica Plain.

JAMAICA PLAIN, MA — A fight broke out in Jamaica Plain on a Boston Public School bus carrying students Friday morning.

Sergeant Detective John Boyle said police were notified around 8 a.m. to reports of a fight breaking out on the bus on Centre Street, near the Jackson Square Train Station.

According to Boston Public Schools, the bus was taking McKinley School students to a summer learning program at Orchard Gardens School in Roxbury.

The Mckinley School provides special education for students in kindergarten through grade 12, focusing and specializing in emotional, behavioral, and learning needs.

The bus driver called Boston police and EMS after the fight broke out between three students.

One student was transported to a Boston hospital accompanied by a parent who arrived at the scene.

Two Boston police officers, the bus driver, and a bus monitor were also taken to Boston hospitals.

All of the injuries are non-life-threatening and no further information has been released.
