ICYMI: Man Arrested Near Franklin Park

At about 10:50 p.m., on Tuesday night, the Boston Police arrested 45-year-old Shawn Peete, of Dorchester, and charged him with the unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, carrying a loaded firearm, possession of a large capacity feeding device and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, police said.

Officers observed a car traveling without its headlights on and ordered the driver to stop the car. The driver pulled over around Hewins Street. The driver was unable to produce a license and registration. The cell phone of the person sitting in the backseat started ringing and the passenger asked the officers for permission to answer it. The officers granted permission but the suspect was moving in such a way as if to suggest he was in possession of a firearm. The officers observed what appeared to be a dark gray automatic firearm on the rear floor. They told the occupants to exit the vehicle and recovered the firearm.
