Jamaica Plain Man Arrested With Loaded Gun at Playground

The 33-year-old male suspect was arrested Tuesday afternoon at the Lambert Avenue Playground.

Boston Police arrested a Jamaica Plain man on Tuesday for the unlawful possession of a firearm at the Lambert Avenue Playground.

The 33-year-old male was arrested around 4:30 p.m. and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, carrying a loaded firearm, and unlawful possession of a firearm (2nd subsequent offense).

Members of the department’s Drug Control Unit observed two males inside the playground who appeared to be passing an unknown object between them. Police say the two men appeared to be very nervous and highly alert to their surroundings.

A third male, known to police, approached the men before they could exit the playground. Officers moved in because they knew the suspect from a prior firearm arrest and suspected him to be armed.

A pat frisk was performed on the suspect, revealing a loaded Taurus Ultralight .38 Special revolver in his pocket.
