Jamaica Plain Theater Raising Funds For Upgrades
The oldest community theater in the U.S. is raising money for long-needed upgrade

The oldest community theater in America is asking the public for help to provide upgrades.
The Footlight Club is trying to upgrade one of its main halls, Eliot Hall, and replace all of the seats. They estimate that it will cost $400 per seat and $200,000 for the whole project.
“So we’re looking for friends supporters, people in the community to hopefully help us raise this,” Maria Wardell, president of the club, said in a statement.
