Man Arrested Following Police Chase in Jamaica Plain
Jason Bly, 35, allegedly fired multiple shots from his car before leading police on a lengthy chase.
A man who allegedly fired multiple shots from his car was arrested Saturday morning following a police chase in Boston’s Jamaica Plain neighborhood.
An officer on patrol in the area of Bragdon and Ernst Streets observed a suspect fire two shots out of the window of the motor vehicle he was operating.
The suspect, later identified as 35-year-old Jason Bly, of Roxbury, fled the scene when the officer attempted to initiate a stop. A motor vehicle pursuit then followed, which lasted several minutes.

The pursuit finally concluded at Elm Street near Seaver Street. Officers placed the suspect in custody without incident. A loaded firearm was recovered from the suspect’s vehicle.
Police are unsure as to who or what the suspect was shooting at. No victims or intended target have been identified at this time.

Bly was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, armed career criminal, failure to submit to a police officer, driving to endanger, speeding and operating a motor vehicle after evocation or suspension.
He’ll appear in Roxbury District Court for an arraignment hearing.
