Police Task Force Makes Firearm Arrest in JP

A Boston Police task force which targets youth violence arrested a man in possession of a loaded firearm in Jamaica Plain Thursday.
Members of the Boston Police Youth Violence Task Force arrested Jordan Talik, 22, of Roxbury, in Egleston Square March 28, according to the Boston Police news blog.
Officers from the strike force on patrol in the area observed Talik, who was known to be at the scene of a Dudley Square shooting at around 2 p.m. Thursday.

“Officers observed the suspect make numerous ‘security checks’ with his left hand at the left front side of his waist. This activity, the earlier shooting and the officers training and experience suggested the suspect was trying to conceal a firearm,” the blog states.
Officers found Talik to be in possession of a folding knife and a bag of what appeared to be crack cocaine.

Talik is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and possession of a class B substance, according to the blog.
The Youth Violence Strike Force is an entity of the Boston Police Department made up of 65 offices, which target violent, typically gang-related fair-ups in Boston.
