The Institute will “use many of the issues Senator Kennedy cared deeply about to focus attention on how the Senate shapes public policy and the nation,” according to its website. “Our programs will serve the general public, students at all levels of their education, teachers, scholars, senators, senate staff, international visitors and others in public service,” the website also says.
Edward Kennedy, who was the third longest-serving member of the United States Senate in American history, passed away on Aug. 25, 2009.
