Since April 15, Patch has posted numerous stories regarding the <a href="https://jamaicaplain.patch.com/topics/boston-marathon-bombings-e7c4a492" rel="nofollow">Boston Marathon bombings</a>. The tragedy was widespread; many people in Jamaica Plain were touched by it in some way. Carlos Arredondo is a known person around these parts. He was a hero in immediately following the Boylston Street explosions. A Jamaica Plain firefighter helped save a young girls and countless others. A makeshift memorial sprung up at the monument. In fact, one reader points out Arredondo built the memorial: Kristin Johnson: "That's not just any citizen's memorial. Take a closer look, it was made by Carlos Arredondo, aka the Man in the Cowboy Hat." More on Arredondo, reader Denise Anderson: "He is an inspiration to me!!!"
