T Police Look for Jackson Sq. Gunpoint Robber

The man stole an iPad from a victim at the Jamaica Plain MBTA station early Saturday morning.

A victim was robbed at gunpoint Saturday morning at the Jackson Square MBTA Station, according to MBTA Transit Police.

Police describe the robber as a black male with a light complexion, between 18 and 22 years old, medium build, wide cornrows, slight facial hair and an ear ring on his right ear, according to a Transit Police blog post. At the time of the robbery, the subject was wearing gray stonewashed jeans, a black hooded sweatshirt and a large white belt. The subject was also wearing black sneakers with white soles and white markings or a white band. 

The robber stole a victim’s iPad at 12:50 a.m. Saturday, March 9 and then fled toward the nearby Bromley-Heath Housing Development, the post says.

Police are asking for people with information on the suspect to call the Criminal Investigation Unit at 617-222-1050, use the MBTA SeeSay app or text to the police tip line using the number 873873.

Apple products - typically iPhones - are often targeted by thieves at stations and aboard trains, according to police. In February, police released informational tips on how to keep your electronic devices safe while using the MBTA.
