It's the time of year where the flowers bloom, the skies clear and people in costumes and on stilts take over Jamaica Plain. Spontaneous Celebrations, Jamaica Plain's non-profit arts initiative, sponsors the Wake Up The Earth, which this year will culminate with the merging of three parades, with starting points on Centre Street, Egleston Square and Dudley Square in Roxbury. The parades will meet at Lamartine Street and become one large parade. Several vendors have been set up for the <a href="http://www.spontaneouscelebrations.org/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">day's events</a> as well. Signs near Stony Brook T Station are urging people to meet there around noon. The events of the day begin around 10:30 a.m. The festival celebrates the grassroots movement that stopped a government plan to demolish parts of JP to make way for I-95.
