Bridges® by EPOCH Supports Veterans at Fenway Park Event
EPOCH Senior Advisor joins hundreds at Fenway Park to raise funds for Run to Home Base, a charity assisting war veterans
LEXINGTON, MA (July 2024) – Run to Home Base, a charity that raises funds for veterans and their families affected by the trauma of war, is a cause that hits close to home for Camille Ciarametaro.
The Senior Advisor at Bridges® by EPOCH at Lexington joined hundreds of families at Fenway Park on July 26 to help raise money for the non-profit dedicated to healing the invisible wounds of war.
This is the third year that Ciarametaro has participated in the race, but she said this year was particularly special. Her son Joseph, who is serving in the US Army, will be coming home in January after finishing his tour of duty. And for the first year, her daughter Lacie joined her in the race.
“I have family members who are veterans and with my son serving overseas this was particularly meaningful for me,’’ she said.

Admitting that she is not “a natural runner” she said that the 5-mile run was outside her comfort zone, but she was egged on by her daughter’s company and the emotions of the moment. “Running alongside people in military uniforms, with prosthetic legs and with service dogs, was inspiring and kept me going.’’
Ciarametaro said that with the help of Bridges® by EPOCH at Lexington she raised the $750 entry fee that goes to fund clinical care, wellness, education and research to help veterans suffering from traumatic brain injury, Post Traumatic Stress, memory loss among other war related injuries. The charity, run by the Red Sox Foundation and Mass General Hospital, raised more than $3.3 million from this year’s race.

Ciarametaro said she sees a natural connection between Run to Home Base and the work she does at Bridges® by EPOCH at Lexington, where as Senior Advisor she counsels families, many dealing with issues of memory loss, dementia and other cognitive disabilities.
“We take pride in the work that we do here meeting with families and helping them to navigate the challenges. We offer support groups, services and education programs on site,’’ she said.
