Farmers Market's Annual Tomato Festival is Tomorrow

Sixth annual event features tomato treats and cooking tips.

The Lexington Farmers' Market is holding its sixth annual Tomato Festival during its weekly market tomorrow, Aug. 31, and the event's theme is "all things tomato."

Visitors can sample fresh-cut tomatoes, served by market sponsors, volunteers and members of the Board of Selectmen. The tomato tasting will be from 2 to 4 p.m.

Local cookbook authors Deb Samuels (The Korean Table) and Becky Sue Epstein and Ed Jackson (American Lighthouse Cookbook) will offer suggestions and tips for cooking with local food from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. A drawing will also be held for signed copies of their cookbooks.
