Letter to the Editor: Patrick Has an Impressive Record

To the Editor: 

We are fortunate to live in a state that leads the nation with initiatives and programs to create renewable energy and green jobs, to promote energy efficiency, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This would not be the case without the leadership and commitment of our current governor, Deval Patrick. 

We have a Governor who gets it and has an impressive record of accomplishment and forward thinking on the environment. (Go to his web site for the details.) He is running against Charlie Baker who is widely quoted as saying he is "not smart enough" to know if global warming is manmade, and who opposes Cape Wind. One of these two men will be our next governor.

We have not yet done enough in Massachusetts to make this "The Century of the Environment," but we have made a good beginning. To elect Charlie Baker would be a tragic step backwards. This is a critical election, for us, our children, and our grandchildren. Don't sit it out. Don't throw your vote away on a candidate that can't win. Don't fail to get an absentee ballot if you will be away. Make sure your children away at college get absentee ballots. Every vote counts in this very important election for Massachusetts.
