Lexington High Students to Compete in 2013 Tenacity Challenge
Bedford High School is hosting the second annual Tenacity Challenge academic competition on April 6.
Bedford High School will host the second annual LA2 Tenacity Challenge today, April 6, in which African American and Latino high school students from 15 urban and suburban districts square off in the highly competitive academic scholarship competition.
The challenge is comprised of four events that test the academic rigor and intellectual risk taking of 22 six-member teams, each of which has been involved in the three month preparation process for the competition, according to a release from Tenacity officials.

Participating schools include Bedford High School, Lexington High School, Melrose High School, Natick High School and Lowell High School.
The theme of this year's challenge is "Fufilling Promise" which will be reflected in each of portion of the competition including a question on whether South Africa has upheld the promise of a post-apartheid constitution during the history argument event, according to the release.

Other events in the competition include an art banner, a literature event and a math and science quiz bowl which focuses on SAT questions.
The competition kicks off at 8 a.m. with registration and breakfast taking place at this time in the BHS lobby.
