Lexington School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Lexington is August 29. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Lexington School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year

August

• 8/29: All K-5, All 6th grade, & All new students begin – 1⁄2 day, 9th grade – full day
• 8/30: All Kindergarten students – 1⁄2 day, All Students Grades 1 – 12 – full day
• 8/31: All Students Grades K – 5 – 1⁄2 day, All Students Grades 6 – 12 – full day

September

• 9/1: Schools Closed, Offices Open
• 9/4: Holiday (Labor Day) — No school
• 9/14: Prof. Learning.; Students – 1⁄2 day
• 9/21: Holiday (Rosh Hashanah) — No school
• 9/28: Back-to-School Night – Elementary School

October

• 10/4: Back-to-School Night – Middle Schools, Grade 6
• 10/5: Back-to-School Night – Middle Schools, Grade 7 & 8
• 10/9: Holiday (Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples’Day)
• 10/12: Back-to-School Night – High School
• 10/25 & 10/26: Elem. Conf.; Students – 1⁄2 day

November

• 11/1 & 11/2: Elem. Conf.; Students – 1⁄2 day
• 11/10: Holiday Observance (Veterans Day) — No school
• 11/13: All Day Professional Learning, Lexington Learns Together, Students — No school
• 11/17: MS Conf.; Students – NO school MS students ONLY
