Patch Adams to Give Morning Talk Tomorrow

Doctor made famous by Robin Williams movie to speak at 10 a.m.

Patch Adams, the man portrayed by Robin Williams in the movie created about his work as a doctor with a big red clown nose, is speaking Friday morning at the Lexington Depot.

The event, "Living in Community, A Morning Talk With Dr. Patch Adams," is offered by Lexington Community Education, and will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Seating is limited and must be reserved in advance. Tickets are $30.

Adams, who with friends and fellow doctors started the free hospital called the Gesundheit Institute, has spent more than 30 years looking to change the country's healthcare system. He is known worldwide for his work as a doctor, clown and social activist.

In his talk, Adams will explain his perspective on how to become more active community members. He approaches personal, community and global health with the idea that people should commit to being happy.
