Police Issue Reverse 911 Call on Voluntary Parking Restriction
Police are asking residents to park on the even side of neighborhood streets.

The Lexington Police Dept. issued a reverse 911 call on Sunday, Feb. 6, outlining a voluntary parking restriction for the remainder of the month.
Lt. Jim Barry said the restriction is aimed at keeping streets open so emergency vehicles and town plows may pass.
"They want to try to make sure that emergency equipment – fire trucks, ambulances, police cars – car make it down the streets," Barry said. "It will also help with town snow removal on the streets."

Barry noted that the restriction is voluntary, and cars parked on the odd side of neighborhood streets will not be ticketed. However, cars are banned from parking on the street between 2 to 6 a.m. from December through March, so cars parked overnight could be ticketed.
