Trump Supporters Rally In Lexington Met With Counter-Protests

Lexington DPW was called to bring more barriers to separate the two protests near the town's visitor's center.

LEXINGTON, MA — President Donald Trump's supporters in Lexington demonstrated in town center on Friday afternoon, only to be met by counter-protests.

A crowd of residents donning red "Make America Great Again" caps, masks, American flag apparel and holding "Trump Pence 2020" signs stood behind barriers while chanting "Four more years."

Just a few feet away was a counter-protest that faced the Trump supporters, behind their own barrier. The counter-protesters also wore masks and held signs that read "Black Lives Matter" and "It's not fraud, it's democracy. Count the ballots."

With the presidential election still too close to call, protests and counter-protests have popped up across the nation, with some Trump supporters taking a lead from the president and calling on officials to stop counting ballots and reiterating false claims of voter fraud.

Massachusetts had all of its ballots counted by Wednesday. Former Vice President Joe Biden won the state's 11 electoral votes and the race in Massachusetts was called on Tuesday night. As of 3:30 p.m. on Friday, during the Lexington protests, Biden was leading the election with 264 electoral votes.
