Bank robbery and Lexington Center robberies; federal agents investigate substance found at Quality Inn.
The Lexington Police Dept. was busy this week, starting off with responding to a bank robbery at Watertown Savings Bank Monday morning. The robbery occurred around 9:30 a.m., after a man with a knife approached a teller and demanded money.
Also on Monday, Lexington Patch posted a story on Teppanyaki Asian Cuisine was also broken into.
Later this week, Lexington police were also investigating a "suspicious substance" found at the Quality Inn & Suites on Bedford Street. A cleaning person at the motel found the substance, and police were assisted by state officials.

A mosquito sample taken in Lexington on Aug. 19 tested positive for West Nile Virus. Samples taken that day in Arlington, Burlington and Belmont also tested positive, and so far this summer 16 mosquito samples have tested positive for West Nile Virus in Middlesex County.
