Worship at the Well at Hancock Church

The Well returns this fall for weekly services of worship Sundays at 5:00pm in Clark Hall!

Informal, welcoming, hopeful, participatory—these are all words used to describe Worship at the Well at Hancock Church. The Well returns this fall for weekly services of worship at 5:00pm in Clark Hall! “Worship at the Well is casual and intimate, yet rich in ritual. We light candles, we pray, we pass the bread and the cup, all amidst beautiful music set to guitar, drum, and the occasional mandolin. It’s church that’s a bit out of the box, yet not so far out that it’s trying to be something else,” says Senior Minister Barbara Callaghan. Every week communion is celebrated, joys and concerns are shared, and the River Rock Band plays a diverse range of music from roots/acoustic to jazz, gospel, Celtic, world, and more. The band has recorded two albums, and their music can be heard on all the major streaming platforms.

The service is open to all, regardless of age, background, sexual orientation, or gender identity; those new to their faith journey or raised in a different tradition—all are honored at the Well. The service takes place in Clark Hall of Hancock Church, 1912 Massachusetts Ave on the Battle Green in Lexington. Parking is available in the rear of the church, and the building is handicap accessible. For more information, go to www.hancockchurch.org, or call the office at 781-862-4220.
