Foreclosure Activity Almost at Zero in Lynnfield This Year

As of the end of March, the only Lynnfield foreclosure activity for 2013 was a single foreclosure petition, according to new data from the Warren Group.

Foreclosure activity was almost nonexistent in Lynnfield for the first quarter of 2013, according to recent data from the Warren Group.

As of the end of March, only one foreclosure petition had been reported in Lynnfield – with no foreclosure auctions or deeds either.

As of the end of March 2011, there had been six foreclosure petitions recorded, with three foreclosure auctions having taken place in town for that period.

The Warren Group reported that statewide, foreclosure petitions were down 52% from last year, with 2,080 reported the first quarter of 2013. 

"Overall, we're seeing foreclosures drop all over the country, but Massachusetts is exceptional in its reduction. The Mortgage Bankers Association reports that we rank 48th in foreclosures started in the first quarter of 2013," said The Warren Group CEO Timothy M. Warren Jr. "Foreclosure prevention efforts combined with a booming real estate market are leading to fewer foreclosures."
