Foreclosures Locally, Statewide Continue to Improve
Foreclosure activity remains almost nonexistent in Lynnfield. Statewide data also shows improving market conditions.
Lynnfield continues to see almost zero foreclosure activity in 2013, according to recent data from the Warren Group.
The real estate information company reported this week that there were zero foreclosure petitions in May for Lynnfield, with just one filed in town all year. May did see one foreclosure auction and one foreclosure deed in town.
Last year, there had been nine foreclosure petitions in town as of the end of May, and five foreclosure auctions.
Statewide, the Warren Group recorded its lowest-ever number of foreclosure petitions since it began compiling this data in 2006.

"This month's data further supports our argument that the foreclosure crisis is behind us. The combination of a recovering housing market and banks' willingness to allow for loan modifications has helped suppress foreclosure levels," said Timothy M. Warren Jr., CEO of The Warren Group.
