A Healthy Lynnfield, an active community partnership working hard to prevent substance misuse and to ensure those impacted have the help they need, is taking part in a national substance use prevention campaign, "Talk. They Hear You."® The campaign by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), helps parents and caregivers start talking with their children early about the dangers of alcohol and other drugs uses.

The “Talk. They Hear You.” campaign aims to reduce underage drinking and other substance use among youths under the age of 21 by providing parents and caregivers with information and resources they need to address these issues with their children early and often.

“Research shows that parents and caregivers have a significant influence on their children’s decisions about using alcohol and other drugs,” said Peg Sallade, Substance Use Prevention Coordinator for the Town of Lynnfield. “The "Talk. They Hear You." campaign provides resources to help families start talking about these issues at a young age. We are sharing some of this information along with helpful tips on our social media and encourage you to follow us.”
