Hundreds of Runners Expected at Event for Fallen Veterans

Run for the Fallen is Saturday morning at MarketStreet Lynnfield. Event honors service personnel who lost their lives since September 11, 2001.

The Lynnfield Police Department reported this week that the following streets will be included in the Run for the Fallen course starting at MarketStreet Lynnfield at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning: Walnut Street, Summer Street, Tricket Road, Atherton Circle, and West Way.

In an announcement for the event, the Military Friends Foundation reported that this is the second Run for the Fallen, with the purpose of honoring the 220 Massachusetts service members who have lost their lives since September 11, 2001.

The event hopes to raise awareness of those who have died, to rejuvenate their memories and keep their spirits alive,” said the announcement, adding that the run is expected to draw hundreds of participants and family members of the Fallen.
