Local Woman Wins Hood's Social Media Contest

Lynnfield-based Hood announced this week that Jane Smith of Peabody won the Hood Blimp "Top of your Game" social media contest, which ran for four weeks starting in July.

Smith will receive a prize package to enjoy Boston from above via a hotel and restaurant with views of the city, plus a year's worth of Hood Ice Cream. She correctly guessed one of the weekly photos posted to Hood's Facebook page as part of the contest and was selected at random from more than 1,600 entries to the contest.

"We're thrilled to congratulate Jane Smith on winning the 'Top of Your Game' contest grand prize," said Sarah Barow, spokesperson for Hood. "Based on the great response to this contest -- along with the tremendous amount of photos and comments shared on social media this summer -- it's clear that New Englanders love the Hood Blimp."

The "Top of Your Game" contest was launched on July 22 to celebrate the iconic Blimp's return and ran until August 16. Each week a different aerial photo taken from the Hood Blimp was posted to the contest tab on Hood's Facebook page, and fans were asked to guess the landmark in the photo. At the end of each week, one person who guessed correctly was chosen at random to receive a $100 gift card. The winners of each weekly contest are as follows:

Week Two: Boston Public Garden, MA - James Hansen, Nashua, NH
Week Three: Hampton Beach, NH - Kevin Vahey, Cambridge, MA
Week Four: USS Constitution in Charlestown Navy Yard, MA - Casey Hill, Randolph, MA
