The concert will also include the performance of a new, contemporary work by Vessela Stoyanova. Stoyanova is an acclaimed Boston-based composer and professor at Berklee College of Music. The musicians of NMYO’s Symphony Orchestra have had the opportunity to be coached by Stoyanova, who will be present at the concert. In addition to this not-to-be missed performance, the Afternoon of Winter Concerts will include music by Mussorgsky, Debussy, Dvorak, Beethoven, and more.
"This is a great concert for our musicians to show all the work made during the first semester at NMYO," says NMYO Music Director Gerald Dolan in a news release. "This free-to-the-public concert ushers in the holiday season and has become a wonderful tradition for concert goers of all ages."
