State GOP Lawmakers Hold Business Roundtable Today on Tech. Tax

The Lynnfield Library’s BookLovers group will hold its first post-summer vacation meeting on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 6:30 p.m. The week after, Kevin Gardner, author of “Discovering New England Stone Walls,” will kick off the library’s new author series on Wednesday, September 18 at 7:30 p.m.

Business Roundtable Discussion: Today from 3 to 4 p.m. at The Savings Bank in downtown Wakefield, state Republican lawmakers, including House Minority Leader Brad Jones and Rep. Donald Wong, will hold a business roundtable discussion on repealing the state “technology tax.” Click here for more information.

Plaza Jazz: Tonight from 6 to 8 p.m., the Plaza Jazz Concert Series continues in front of the Beebe Library with jazz guitarist Yuto Kanazawa. The concert series will conclude next Thursday evening, also from 6 to 8 p.m., with blues band Pistol Pete & The Smoking Guns.

Are you a local artist? Then you may be interested in joining the Plein Air Paint-Out, to be held at the Wakefield Farmer’s Market on Saturday, September 14 from 9 a.m. to noon at Hall Park on North Ave. Artists will be able to paint wherever they choose along Lake Quannapowitt, with an exhibit and sale set for noon to 1 p.m. The participation fee for the artists is $25.
