Town Meeting Continued to Thursday
The Lynnfield fall town meeting was continued after too many people left to form a quorum.
LYNNFIELD, MA – After action was taken on six items on the agenda for Monday's fall town meeting, an attendee noticed that too many people had left.
The town charter stipulates that 175 voters must be present to vote on town meeting items. Lynnfield checks in people at the beginning of town meetings and doesn't begin until there are enough people, but people tend to leave after voting on the items that interest them.
The attendee (unnamed by a notice sent out by the town) initiated a quorum call, and revealed a lack of quorum. The meeting was adjourned, and will continue on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the Lynnfield Middle School auditorium at 505 Main St.
