2 Guns Seized Following Armed Robbery In Malden: Police

MALDEN, MA — Police seized two guns after a reported armed robbery near the Bowdoin Housing Complex Thursday evening, police said.

Responding officers, including Det. Montina, searched the area for suspects and took three men and one juvenile into custody, police said.

A struggle ensued between one of the men and Det. Montina, during which officers McGahey, Kessler and DiCarlo came to his aid, police said. A gun was found on the man, and another was seized during a follow-up investigation, police said.

"The Malden Police Department commends these brave officers and detectives, whom continue to combat gun violence and make our communities safer," police said in a statement.

Police did not identify the suspects by name.
