3-Alarm Fire Breaks Out In Malden

The fire burned on Judson Street in the city on Wednesday afternoon.

MALDEN, MA — Firefighters from multiple area agencies were in Malden on Wednesday afternoon responding to a 3-alarm fire in the city.

The fire broke out on Judson Street, which splits off Main Street near Bell Rock Memorial Park. Malden fire crews warned community members to avoid the area just before 4 p.m.

Firefighters from Melrose, Everett, Medford and Somerville all aided in the fire response, according to social media posts by those departments.

Multiple photos shared on social media showed smoke and flames billowing from the Judson Street building as the fire burned.

Red Cross personnel were later on scene on Wednesday night, hours after the fire, working with building residents who had been displaced.
