Local Baseball All-Stars Commit to Play in Respected College Programs

Malden Catholic's baseball captain's and Catholic Conference All-Stars headed to colleges.

Malden Catholic’s baseball captain’s and Catholic Conference All-Stars Frank Celona, Anthony DeSouza and Ethan Harris, recently committed to playing at some of the most respected college baseball programs, according to Malden Catholic Lancers Athletics.

DeSouza, Class of 2016, led the Lancers pitching staff last spring with a 1.07 ERA and 63K in 39 innings of work. DeSouza committed to the University of Rhode Island, Division 1, Atlantic 10 Conference.

Harris, Class of 2016, is a two-time Catholic Conference All-Star. He led the Lancers with 27 hits. He finished the season with a .333 batting average. Harris committed to Southern New Hampshire University, Division 2, NE-10 Conference.

Celona, Class of 2016, was the general behind the plate as catcher, and led the Lancers to another post-season appearance. His defensive play was the foundation to the team’s success, according to coaches. Celona committed to Franklin Pierce University, Division 2, NE-10 Conference.
