Malden Celebrates National Night Out

The event was part of the National Night Out initiative, which coordinates events across the country each year.

MALDEN, MA — Community members gathered at MacDonald Stadium in Malden on Tuesday night to celebrate the return of the city’s National Night Out festivities.

Similar events took place in thousands of communities across the country, all with the shared stated goal of improving relationships between public safety personnel and the communities they serve.

“We love to get the kids out here so they can meet all of us,” Malden Police Captain Paul Hopkins told Patch on Tuesday. “It’s the whole department represented here.”
