MALDEN, MA — The 2021 municipal election will be held Nov. 2 in Malden. The only citywide election this year is the councillor at large race. There are also races for city council and school committee in certain wards.

Malden Patch sent out a questionnaire to all candidates in contested races and published profiles for those who submitted answers. Those profiles are linked below.

How to vote

Early voting

Those who wish to early vote may do so now through 12 noon on Monday, Nov. 1 at the city clerk's counter on the second floor of City Hall during normal business hours. Anyone who misses this deadline will have to vote at their regular polling location on Election Day.

Mail-in voting

The deadline to submit an application for a mail-in ballot was Wednesday, Oct. 27. All mail-in/absentee ballots must be returned to City Hall by 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 2. Mail-in/absentee ballots are not to be dropped off at polling places on Election Day.
