Malden Mayor and Police Chief Attend New England Gun Violence Reduction Summit
Regional and national policy experts offered presentations on local, state and regional advocacy and law enforcement best practices.

Mayor Gary Christenson and Police Chief Kevin Molis recently joined Boston Mayor Marty Walsh and New England mayors, police chiefs and policy staff to examine ideas and initiatives to address gun violence and gun safety, strategies and tools focused on illegal guns, firearms education, and violence reduction strategies.
As law enforcement agencies around the region increasingly recover second-hand firearms associated with crimes, the summit provided a forum of collaboration between cities, large and small, to enable a comprehensive, wide-ranging approach to gun violence and gun trafficking.

The gathering was held at the Shelburne Community Center in Boston’s Roxbury neighborhood.
