Malden PD Hiring Officers

The department is looking to fill multiple vacancies.

MALDEN, MA — The Police Department announced Thursday that it is accepting applications for the role of police officer through the lateral transfer process to fill multiple vacancies.

Lateral transfers are when established officers transition to a new community. Malden PD currently has 105 sworn officers.

Salary can range between $65,000 and $105,000 depending on how much experience and years of service any hire has. According to the department, Malden officers hold many positions and take on a variety of assignments including criminal investigations, special operations, traffic enforcement, firearms officers, video evidence unit, school resource officers, and field training officers.

All applicants must have completed full-time Municipal Police Training and have Civil Service status under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 31.

“We are seeking a diverse group of experienced officers who are looking to make a difference in one of the most diverse communities in the Commonwealth,” the department said in a statement.
